Game
‘When I tell you to close your eyes, you should close them or go like the death one like them!’

‘Never mind, it just a game.’
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember that when I was in secondary 5, I joined my graduate camp with my classmates. They thought they did not get an unforgettable experiment for our graduation. However, I did…

At the last night of the camp, it was really silent. With no sound of teenagers chatted and played. All human being and animals have slept already; except Owl and the teenagers from the campfire site.

‘Campfire's burning, campfire's burning,
Draw nearer, draw nearer,
In the gloaming, in the gloaming,
Let's sing and be merry...’
There were eight boys and seven girls still not sleep, they didn’t want the time went on. They were singing for the burning campfire.

‘The time goes so fast… We must treasure it more.’ said Jenny, the girl sit near me.

‘Yes, Time brushed past us just a moment and everything gone away stealthily.’ I said sleepily.

‘We all hope the fire never goes out but it doesn’t – just like the time.’ said Sam, the leader of boys.

‘Can we do something to make today more special?’ said Tidy, the boy sit opposite me.

‘Let us play a party game to celebrate and souvenir today.’ an other boy said.

‘Good idea, Oscar. Mm…let us play…Mafia,’ said Sam, ‘have any one haven’t heard it?’

A few of us raised their hands and gave Sam a smile.

‘Let me introduce how to play:
Mafia is a party game modeling a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Players are secretly assigned roles: either "mafia", who know each other; or "townspeople", who know only the number of mafia amongst them by the Narrator choosing. During the night phase of the game, the Mafia chooses an innocent to kill. During the day phase, all players debate the identities of the Mafia and vote to kill someone whom the majority suspect. Players are eliminated until only innocents or mafia remains; the surviving side wins. Mafia is rarely played in groups of fewer than five, and must always start with more innocents than mafia.’

‘I haven’t played before but It sound’s interesting.’ A girl said.

‘Let us start now.’ said a boy.

‘Before we start, let me add some rules, anyone “dies” and open their eyes at a wrong time, he or she can open their eyes during the next night phase but go back to tent at that time, Okay?’ said Sam.

We all said yes.

‘So the game now starts, and I will be the Narrator.’ said Sam.

‘It is now nighttime and all the villagers are asleep...Please close your eyes.’

‘Now who is tapping gently by me will be the Mafia.’

‘Mafia now open your eyes and point out a person to kill.’

‘It is now daytime and all the villagers wake up... Please open your eyes.’

‘Mafia have killed…Cindy. ’

‘Oh no! I’m the first one.’ said Cindy.

‘Never mind, it just a game.’ said Sam.

‘I know but I am confused why I’m the first one.’

‘I don’t know but the Mafia choose you.’

‘Who would like to kill Cindy? ’ said me

‘It is very difficult to know who is the Mafia now….’ said Jenny.

‘Yes, let us wait for the next time to lynch.’ said May.

‘No against?’ said Sam.

‘Yes.’

‘It is now nighttime and all the villagers are asleep...Please close your eyes – Cindy can open your eyes.’

‘Mafia now open your eyes and point out a person to kill.’

‘Cindy go back to your tent now.’

‘It is now daytime and all the villagers wake up... Please open your eyes.’

‘Mafia have killed…Jason. ’

Again and again,
Nighttime and daytime,
Killed and death,
Campfire still burning and there still five people.

One of us was Sam,
One of us was Jenny,
One of us was Tidy,
One of us was Ken,
One of us was me,
And one of us was the Mafia.
Campfire still burning and I was still thinking.

Who was the Mafia?

Mm…I still didn’t know.

‘It is now daytime and all the villagers wake up... Please open your eyes.’

‘Mafia have killed…Ken. ’

‘Why Tidy, Jenny and Janice so lucky? - Ever time I play party game I must win. ’ said Ken.

‘Never mind, it just a game.’ said Sam.

‘I think Tidy is the Mafia.’ I said.

‘Me too.’ said Jenny.

‘So Tidy is executed, and he is…only a “villagepeople”.’

‘Oh! Jenny you are the Mafia?’ I asked.

‘Don’t play on me that who you are.’ she said.

‘It is now nighttime and all the villagers are asleep...Please close your eyes – Tidy and Ken can open your eyes.’

‘Mafia now open your eyes and point out a person to kill.’

‘Tidy and Ken go back to your tent now.’

Why the game still went on?

Haven’t it finish?
I opened my eyes a little to see what was occur.

I saw Sam was pulling Tidy and Ken into the campfire – it was the reason why the campfire still burning without adding wood!

I yelled and knew that what was going on – Sam was also the Mafia and he wanted to kill Jenny and me too!

‘When I tell you to close your eyes, you should close them or go like the death one like them!’

‘Never mind, it just a game.’ said Sam, he smiled.

‘Oh no!!!’

‘How are you, Janice?’ Jenny woke me up. Oh luckily, those things were only a dream.

All things were right.

‘Let us play a party game to celebrate and souvenir today.’ a boy said.

‘Good idea, Oscar. Mm…let us play…Mafia,’ said Sam, ‘have any one haven’t heard it?’

‘Don’t play this evil game! And I think it is the time we go to bed because a sunny new day is wait for us~’ I shouted.

‘Mm…Yes…We always want to get back yesterday,’ said Sam, ‘It is batter to treasure our tomorrow.’

‘Let’s sleep first and watch the beautiful sunrise together!’ said Jenny.

‘That's settled!’

[The End]
