I’ve got some disappointing news. There is still no word from the federal court considering our legal motion for a preliminary injunction against the planned wolf hunts in Idaho and Montana.

That means that, as scheduled, wolf hunting seasons started today in Idaho and will begin in Montana September 15th.

We had hoped to stop the wolf hunts before they could begin, but I remain hopeful. We have won for our wolves time and time again and can do so again. We have a 5-point plan to save these wolves, but we need your help to do it.

自從看到奧巴馬的食言以及“爲了獵人以及放牧業者...”等等字眼的時候，“經濟危機”這個名詞就出現在我腦子裏。繼而是經濟法案、財團政治、奢侈品市場原材料供應鏈條等等惡心的名詞開始冒出來。

更醜陋的是，美國的經濟困境是他們自己一手造成的。隨著玩弄金融泡沫，消費能力被透支，很快生産過剩的尴尬局面帶來了一種資本瀕死前的瘋狂。這種瘋狂不斷地榨幹它自己的生命力，而當它徹底垮掉的時候，債務就落到其他角色的頭上：中産階級、發展中國家...當然，最後都落到了動物和自然界的頭上。

從聯署結果來看，這一次資産階級民主又再次露出了流氓本質。而更重要的是，發展了幾百年的資本主義，從它留下的各個痕迹來看都能非常明白地表現出一點：它把人類文明和自然環境故意敵對起來了，並宣揚“對自然的勝利”。在這個榨取模式下，一切人與自然的和平，哪怕是虛假和短暫的和平，都只能看統治者的心情而被施舍下來。如果不去戰勝這個禁锢著包括人類在內所有生命的制度，那麽毫無疑問和這次一樣的情況還會發生成千上萬次。


我看到前面有很多人在疑惑人類爲什麽這麽愚蠢，或者疑惑他們爲什麽這麽殘酷，或者疑惑他們爲什麽還不醒悟...答案很簡單：只要他們還處在資本的禁锢之中，他們就根本沒法明白，根本沒辦法做出任何改善。所以我希望大家能夠花點時間想清楚所有這些事情的邏輯關係。
只盯著環保的話，是根本沒辦法環保的；這個道理實際上就如同“只是吃止痛片無法治病”一樣簡單。如果不把事情的根本原因給解決掉，那麽毫無疑問各種麻煩還會繼續層出不窮。
哪怕是一絲一毫的、極其微小的進展，也是以看清敵人的真面目作爲基本條件。如果看不清自己的敵人，就永遠不能取得真正的勝利。

我不是要以偏蓋全，也不是說所有的人類，
不過只少是大部份吧，我亦為自己是一個人類而感到羞恥。
我已經不抱任何的希望了，我對人類絕望了。
有道是「希望越大，失望也越大」，看來人類的出現是為了制造失望的。
他們再保育又有什麼意思？這叫「渣乾取盡」，
想保護就保護，不想的就來一場大屠殺，這叫什麼保育？
再說，人類根本沒必要、沒責任保護其他的動物，
只要他們做好自己，不胡亂屠殺生命就可以了，
這樣保育不保育已經沒分別了。
現在上課也很無力，一想到每天都有狼兄弟被殺，
心情就會突然的掉下了谷底…很傷心…
以後什麼的「希望人類可以明白什麼什麼的」這些我再也不打了，
反正到頭來毀滅世界上所有生物的家的還是我們。

A sad milestone has just passed for the gray wolves of the northern Rockies.

More than 100 wolves have been killed since Idaho and Montana began hunting them this fall ... nearly two a day in Idaho alone.

Just last week, we officially filed our legal brief in federal court -- representing several national environmental organizations free of charge -- to restore federal protections for these majestic creatures. Independent scientists say that 2,000 to 5,000 wolves are required to ensure a sustainable, fully recovered wolf population in the northern Rockies ... but the states' flawed management plans could reduce the population to a level that is too small to survive.

Defenders of Wildlife is making important progress in our fight to save the lives of wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the northern Rockies.

Defenders Executive Vice President (and former head of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) Jamie Rappaport Clark has been urging the Obama administration to restore protections for these wolves. And it is clear that we have a very strong legal case against the wolf de-listing.

Nonetheless, more than 160 formerly protected wolves have already been killed, including members of Yellowstone’s famed Cottonwood pack. Now is a crucial time in our work to save these magnificent animals, and we have to keep pushing to save these wolves.

I have a confession to make: I’m a huge fan of the Twilight? books and movies.

But as ecstatic as I am about this Friday’s opening of the new movie Twilight: New Moon?, there’s something I’m even more excited about as a lifelong advocate for wolves: the rare opportunity that we have right now to restore wolves to their historic range in Washington state, where the Twilight? novels are set.

Wolves play a big part in the new movie Twilight: New Moon?, but these magnificent animals have played an even bigger role in Washington state, including the Olympic National Park peninsula, the real-world setting of the Twilight? movies and books.

Gray wolves once roamed this beautiful countryside -- playing an important part in the area’s ecology and in the legends of the Quileute Native American tribe featured in the Twilight? series.

Tragically, the extensive wolf extermination campaigns of the late 1800s eliminated these magnificent animals from the Pacific Northwest landscape -- tearing a gaping hole in the natural balance and cultural tapestry that makes Washington so special.
