I think having one wiki rather than two is the best approach, if possible. A Chinese furry wiki is not likely to have many contributors to start with, and making twice as much work for them seems like a bad idea.

As it happens, some furries from the Czech Republic have just started a Czech version of WikiFur. They are a part of WikiFur and we link to them with the interlanguage links that Kakumi mentioned. If there is only a little information in Czech, a reader who knows English can easily go to the English site to learn more. It could be the same with Chinese.

We would be glad to link as partners with a Chinese furry wiki, whether or not it is "Chinese WikiFur". Being hosted on Wikia or a separate site does not matter to us. Wikia does have a Chinese community builder if you wish to talk to them about being hosted there.

The first thing to overcome when translating furry texts into Chinese is how to translate the word "furry". In fact, the article on Theriantrophy in the Chinese Wikipedia is pretty messed up by members of the Paradise... because they usually translate "furry" and "theriantrophy" as "獸人", literally "Beast People".

I took all the furry stuff to a new article, "獸人迷"(lit. "beast man fan"), which should better correspond to the article Furry Fandom in the English Wikipedia.

Wolves' Paradise has set up a "Paradise Encyclopedia" that you can take a look at it. However it's license is CC-by-nd-sa(!) so it is impossible to share content between WPE and WikiFur.

I looked at the site and it says CC-BY-NC-ND. How does that work? ND means that only the original author can modify the page. CC-BY-NC-SA makes more sense, though it is still overly restrictive in my opinion . . . I think if people want to make money out of WikiFur, they are welcome to, it will just make the website more popular and encourage others to improve it. Nobody has done so yet, though.

It's me! ^_^ When I go online I usually go by the name Kakurady Drakenar (卡库拉迪·达格纳尔/卡庫拉迪·達格納爾) but when you my user page on WikiFur (updated today) you'll see that I like to take the name NekoYasha when nobody's looking ^_-*

And yes, doesn't ND misses the whole point of wiki? 'Cause wiki is all about collaborative editing.

Perhaps the intent was "you can edit pages, but you can't copy to another website". However, the license is usually applied for each document, not for the wiki as a whole. The wiki is just a "collection of documents" (the GFDL term).

For what it is worth, we have had little problem with people reusing our work under the GFDL, which is basically CC-BY-SA - and if we did, I doubt our license would stop them. It does mean it is possible for a group to fork the wiki, but that would do nothing unless they also split the community . . . and if people decide to do that, the leader is not doing their job properly.

Well ...sorry that it was my fault , As I installed the media wiki, I would like to let the Paradise Encyclopedia have the function which is like "content management systems" that used for storing some artworks, articles, So I choose "CC-by-nd-sa" . Just like some artists' gallery or something.

But I thought that I'm an arctic wolf with white color fur.
If translate word by word ,"狼王白牙" means: White Fang the wolf king.
Because in Chinese words people usually call an alpha wolf "a wolf king".
Kiba in Japanese means fang. but I prefer "Kiba"

Which one is more proper in English's furry name?
"Alphawolf Kiba" "Kiba the alpha" or any other words..?

I put "White-teeth Timberwolf" myself - I guess the translator put the white with the teeth rather than the wolf, and decided it must be a timberwolf rather than a generic wolf. It was changed later. White-Fang does sound even better though.

The word "Kiba" may become more common because of the japanese anime spreading worldwide quickly. So I decided not to confuse the people who know what "Kiba" means.

Oh, and about the WikiFur page about Wolves' Paradise.
We can introduce some unique boardss like "wolves packs meeting rock" or the fursuit forum or our forum blogs..etc. Most of our artists prefer posting their artworks on the forum than posting on the gallery, it's also an unique phenomenon.

But although we have a "secret forum" indeed. Many furry forums have the session that are limited access to non-registered users. So I hope this "keeping a secret"....

I'm picky so that each sentence has to look up at google to conform as possible as the fluent english.
(But.. I know , it still need much twicking and wording.)
