A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of a big airport.
一為年輕的女士在候機室等候她的航班起飛。

As she would need to wait many hours, she dicided to buy a book to spend her time. She also bought a packet of cookies.
因為預計要等候很長時間，她決定買一本書來看看，以消磨時間。順便她還買了一包酥餅。

She sat down in an armchair, in the VIP room of the airport, to rest and read in peace.
她坐在貴賓室的扶手椅上，放鬆自己，安靜的閱讀。

Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies lay, a man sat down in the nest seat, opened his magazine and started reading.
在扶手椅放有酥餅的一側，有一位先生也坐在她旁邊的位子上，打開了他手中的雜誌開始閱讀。

When she took out the first cookie, the man took one also. She felt irritate but said nothing. She just thought:"What a nerve! If I was in the mood I would punch him for daring!"
當她從袋子裡拿出第一塊酥餅的時候，那個男人也拿走一塊，她感到惱怒，但是沒有說話，卻在心裡想：「這人是不是有點神經病！要不是我現在心情還算好，我肯定要教訓他一頓！」

For each cookie she took, the man took one too. This was infuriating her but she didnt want to cause a scene.
每次她拿出一塊來吃，那個男的也跟著拿走一塊。這簡直讓她火冒三丈，不過她還是忍住了，她不想讓大家來看戲。

When only one cookie remained, she thought:"ah... What this abusive man do now?" Then, the man, taking the last cookie, divided it into half, giving her one half.
到只剩下最後一塊酥餅的時候，她想：「好...現在看這為不講理的男人怎麼做？」 你猜怎麼樣？那男士竟然拿起最後那塊餅，把它掰成兩半，然後把其中一半遞給她。

Ah! That was too much! She was much too angry now! In a huff, she took her book, her things and stormed to the boarding place.
啊！這簡直太過份了！她現在是如此的怒不可遏！她怒氣衝衝地抓起她的那本書，她的手提包，然後衝進登機口。

When she sat down in her seat, inside the plane, she looked into her purse ot take her eyeglasses, and, to her surprise, her packet of cookies was there, untouched, unopened!
當她進入機艙找到自己的位子坐下以後，她就翻看自己的提包，想拿出眼鏡。令她十分驚奇的是，她看見她買的那包酥餅還在提包裡，原封不動！

She felt so ashamed!! She realized that she was wrong... She had forgotten that her cookies were kept in her purse.
她立刻感到羞愧得無地自容！現在她明白她錯了......她忘了她的酥餅一直放在自己的提包裡！

The man had divided his cookies with her, without feeling angered or bitter.
是那位男士把他的酥餅分了一半給她，沒有因此有一點惱怒或者不高興。

...while she had been very angry, thinking that she was dividing her cookies with him. And now there was no chance to explain herself...nor to apologize.
然後她卻因此而十分惱怒，心裡還認為是他把她的酥餅分給了他。現在既沒有機會向他說明自己的誤會...也沒辦法向他表示歉意。

The moral of the story...... ~End~

有許許多多的事情是沒有辦法去挽回的，像是「已經說出口的......話」、「錯過的......時機」、「還有逝去的......時光」等等。
